Upcoming Board Election: April 2025

The Board of Trustees for Mahomet Public Library is made up of seven local residents who are elected to four-year terms. In April of 2025, we will be voting for four trustees.

Trustees attend monthly meetings. In addition, each trustee serves on two committees that meet as needed, usually 2-3 times per year. Our Board of Trustees also represents the Library at various community events, and helps organize our winter Murder Mystery Dinner and summer Ice Cream Social. To serve as a trustee, you must be 18 years of age and live in Mahomet township.

If you are interested in learning more about serving on the Board of Trustees, or would like to run for a position on the Board, please contact Library Director John Howard for more information. In order to run for election, you must collect at least 35 signatures on petitions, and complete all other paperwork no later than November 18, 2024. Terms for new trustees will begin in late May of 2025. John Howard can be reached by calling the Library at 217-586-2611 or via email at director@mahometpubliclibrary.org.
