Books, movies, music, and audiobooks are not the only items you can check out from the Library! You can also check out a ROKU streaming stick, board game, hotspot, or laptop.

Roku Streaming Sticks

Each Roku Streaming Stick provides access to the following:

  • One of our paid streaming services (Apple TV, BritBox, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, or Peacock)
  • PBS Kids
  • The Roku Channel
  • The Library’s Movies Anywhere account, with access to hundreds of movie titles

ROKU Streaming Stick Checkout Limitations:

  • These devices may only be checked out by patrons holding Mahomet Library cards. Patrons may only check out one streaming device PER HOUSEHOLD at a time.
  • You may check the device out for one week.
  • There are no renewals.
  • Overdue fines will accrue at $1.00 per day.
  • To request a ROKU stick, search our catalog and place a hold, or ask library staff for assistance.

Board Games

Check out a board game or two from the Library and have a family or friend game night! Browse the games on the shelves behind the copier at the Library or request one through our catalog.

Board Game Checkout Limitations:

  • Patrons may check out up to two games at a time.
  • You may keep the games for one week, with 3 renewals if no one else is waiting for the game.
  • To request a board game, search our catalog and place a hold, or ask library staff for assistance.
  • To find a game in our catalog, search “game.” In the left sidebar, choose “Mahomet Public Library” under Assigned Branch. Under Type of Material, click “more” and then click “Three Dimensional Object.”

Hotspots

The Library has three T-Mobile MiFi hotspots available for patrons to check out.

Hotspot Checkout Limitations:

  • These devices may only be checked out by patrons holding Mahomet Library cards.
  • You may check the device out for one week.
  • There are no renewals, but you may ask staff to renew the device if no one is on the waitlist.
  • Overdue fines will accrue at $1.00 per day

Search our catalog for “hotspot” and choose “Mahomet Public Library District” in the left sidebar.

Laptop Computers

The Library has two older-model laptops, with Microsoft Office installed, available for patrons to check out.

Laptop Checkout Limitations:

  • These devices may only be checked out by patrons holding Mahomet Library cards.
  • You may check the device out for one week.
  • There are no renewals, but you may ask staff to renew the device if no one is on the waitlist.
