Do children love you? Do you seek a job that is different every week, that gives you plenty of ability to be creative and try new things, that is never boring? Are you tired of hearing “we don’t do it like that here” and ready to hear “That sounds fun. Let’s give it a try!”?

The Mahomet Library is looking for an outgoing, energetic, and creative professional to lead youth services and programming for all ages at our mid-sized public library. The successful candidate will do more than just story times, although great story times are a necessity. As a library, we exist to help our community “learn, connect, create and grow” and we are excited to hear your ideas for how to make that happen. The Youth Services and Programming Librarian will choose materials for our children’s and teen areas, and work with one additional staff member to plan and help implement programs for all ages.

Working at a mid-sized library gives you opportunities to be engaged in a variety of library services while also getting to really know the members of the community. You will serve as a member of the Library Leadership Team, helping guide the library in all areas as we strive to constantly be better at what we do. We believe in giving our staff a lot of freedom to try new things, to innovate and learn and always grow as a professional. If that culture is what you seek, we want to hear from you.
