COVID-19 and Computer Use
During the COVID-19 crisis, we will be limiting the number of workstations available for public use and we will limit computer sessions to 1 hour per day.
Please review our Computer and Internet Policy on our Library Policies page before using computers at the library.
Wi-Fi
Connect to our free Wi-Fi using your computer or portable device. Please be aware that wireless connections are not secure and should not be used for financial transactions or matters requiring privacy.
Patron Computer Workstations
The library has 16 workstations for public use. All workstations are equipped with Microsoft Office software.
Computers may be reserved up to 7 days in advance using the reservation station at the library. Anyone may use the library's patron computers, but a valid Mahomet Library card is required to reserve a computer.
Equipment You Can Check Out
Wi-Fi Hotspots. The library has three T-Mobile MiFi hotspots available for patrons to check out. (Search the catalog for "hotspot" and choose "Mahomet Public Library District" in the left sidebar.)
Laptops. The library has three older-model laptops, with Microsoft Office installed, available for patrons to check out. (Search the catalog for "laptop computer" and choose "Mahomet Public Library District" in the left sidebar.)
Hotspot Checkout Limitations
These devices may only be checked out by patrons holding Mahomet Library cards.
You may check the device out for one week.
There are no renewals, but you may ask staff to renew the device if no one is on the waitlist.
Overdue fines will accrue at $1.00 per day
To request a hotspot or laptop, search our catalog and place a hold or ask library staff for assistance.
