How much do you know about polar bears? Did you know:

• They aren’t really white! Their hair is transparent. The way it reflects light makes it look white.
• They are closely related to the brown bear.
• They are very big: a large male may weigh up to 1500 pounds and grow to be nearly 10 feet tall when standing on its hind legs.
• They like the cold and don’t like temperatures above 50 degrees. That is why climate change is such a big problem for them.
