Is everything up and running?

Most patron activities are working, including searching the catalog, requesting items, renewing items, and viewing account information.

Some tasks that our staff perform behind the scenes are not ready. These should be largely invisible to patrons, but may affect how quickly new items appear on our shelves in the 2-3 weeks following our go live day.

What new features will I see?

• More Items: Our new catalog will have 10 million books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines.
• More Libraries: You can use your card in person at any of the 427 downstate Illinois libraries participating in this catalog.
• More Choices for Notices:You can choose to receive hold, overdue, and pre-overdue notices in your email and/or by text message.
• Easier Searching:The search tools for this catalog are both easier to use and more powerful than those in our old catalog.
• Optional Personal Reading Log:You can choose to have the system maintain a list of recent books you've borrowed to help you keep track of what you have read already.

Does this change how I use the Champaign and Urbana Public Libraries?

There is no change in how Mahomet patrons use the Champaign Public Library and the Urbana Free Library. Even though the CU Catalog uses the same software as our new catalog, SHARE, the two systems remain separate.
