FirstSearch, provided to Illinois residents through an Illinois State Library cooperative purchase, is a collection of databases to help patrons locate information available through libraries worldwide. The databases include:

• WorldCat: Catalog of books and other materials in libraries worldwide. 
• IllinoisCatalog: Catalog of materials in Illinois libraries.
• ArticleFirst: Index of articles from the contents pages of journals.
• ECO: Index of articles from scholarly journals.
• MEDLINE: Index of articles from medical journals.
• GPO: Index of U.S. Government publications. Search results include links to the downloadable content from government websites.
• OAIster: Collection of freely available, academically-oriented digital resources (text, video, audio, image, and data set files). Search results include links to the full information.

Patrons may request up to 5 items at a time from other libraries through this service. Mahomet library staff will contact patrons to let them know if the request was successful.
