Open Position: Youth Services Programming Assistant

The Mahomet Public Library seeks an energetic, service-oriented individual to join our small-but-mighty youth services team! We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with kids and families in an inclusive and dynamic environment. From storytimes and preschool playdates, to LEGO clubs and teen creative writing workshops, the Mahomet Public Library hosts a wide variety of programs and events for youth of all ages and their caregivers. The Youth Services Programming Assistant will work alongside the Youth Services Librarian to develop and implement an engaging schedule of programs for youth age 0 to 18. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working with children and teens of all ages and demonstrates an ability to adapt and thrive in a busy public library setting.

Full Programming Assistant Job Description

This is a part-time position, typically 10 hours per week with additional time scheduled as needed for library programs. Schedule requires day, evening, and weekend hours. Starting pay is $17/hour.

Open Position: Library Clerk

Do you have flexibility in your schedule? Are you interested in earning some extra money and serving your community? Does a part-time position fit your lifestyle best? Are you looking for a job where you actually look forward to going to work?

Library Clerks at MPL provide outstanding customer service by assisting library patrons at various public service desks and managing/processing library materials. We are seeking a person with excellent customer service skills and a strong attention to detail. Computer ability sufficient to handle all library tasks plus assist patrons is required.

This is a part-time position. This position will be scheduled for an average of 13 hours per week initially, but we are seeking someone who would be able and enthusiastic about working additional shifts to cover vacations and sick time for other staff.

Position starts at $17.00/hour and includes participation in IMRF retirement plan and paid time off.
